About your free trial
The free trial is a one-time offer, limited to one per account, and lasts 5 days. After it ends, the plan you chose renews automatically at that plan's price, on that plan's billing cycle. If you've already used your trial, billing starts from the moment you sign up.
Sensor cost is not included — you'll need to arrange your CGM separately. 6-month and 12-month plans are billed as a single upfront payment covering the whole period.
maru is currently a Japan-only service, billed in Japanese yen (¥). We built this page for English speakers living in Japan; there isn't an international version yet.

Cancellation & renewal
Cancel from your account management screen. Cancel any time before the day before your next renewal date, and billing simply stops from then on — you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds
As a rule, we don't refund partway through a billing period. If you need to cancel a 6-month or 12-month plan partway through, reach out to support and we'll look at your situation individually. See our current terms of sale for details.

About pricing, trials, and billing.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel any time from "Manage plan" in your account. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period even after you cancel.
Can I just try it and stop there?
Yes. Cancel during your 5-day trial and you won't be charged anything. We'll email you 3 days before the trial ends as a reminder. Note that the free trial is limited to one per account — if you sign up again after using it, billing starts immediately, with no trial period.
Is maru a medical device?
No. maru is an app that supports your health tracking — it does not diagnose or treat anything. Always talk to a medical professional about health decisions.
Do I need a continuous glucose monitor (CGM)?
maru's core idea is putting your CGM readings side by side with your meal photos so you can see the connection. But you don't need a sensor to get value from maru — meal logging, AI analysis, and your sleep and activity data are all useful on their own.
